'RIGHT ANGLES' 

Private Cottage

This project is conceived through careful study of its surroundings and mimics shapes of the nature in which it sits.

The dynamic roof slopes are arranged to take advantage of passive solar  heating and cooling. The structure is open to view from all interior spaces and exhibits a wonderful feeling of openness to nature as it takes a shape of a falling leaf. The roof collects rainfall for harvesting and use for the occupants. All natural ventilation with support of an HRV which collects and recirculates residual heat from a central high efficiency wood burning fireplace.
